About Me
My name is Sara Romine. I am an elementary school librarian in San Antonio, Texas. I have been a librarian for 17 years and before that I was an elementary school teacher for 10 years in Austin and San Antonio.
I have been the librarian at Woodstone Elementary in North East Independent School District in San Antonio for all 17 years. My school has about 600 students. I used to have a full time assistant, but in more recent years that amount has been cut. We have awesome librarians in my district who all have different strengths and passions but we all love to collaborate and share ideas whenever we can.
One of the things I love most about being a librarian is coming up with new lessons. Lessons that engage my K-5th grade students and their teachers. Lessons that use technology that might be out of my comfort zone, but that comfort the teachers when it doesn't work perfectly. And of course, lessons that promote discussion and laughter. My library is not a quite library and I LOVE it that way.
In my "other" life. I am the mother of two boys, ages 21 and 18. My older son just graduated from college at Oklahoma State and is continuing his education as a graduate assistant in the Athletic Communications Office Go Pokes! And my other son just graduated from high school and will be playing baseball and attending college at St. Mary's University here in San Antonio. Yes, we will be EMPTY NESTERS (that might be a whole 'nother blog) although we do still have a crazy dog named Brody. My "notschool" time is spent at baseball games, reading and spending time with friends.

Hello, Sara: I'd be interested in viewing your "My Library ABC Journal" for kinders. Do you happen to sell it via Teachers Pay Teachers? I'm interested in doing something like it with my kindergarteners next year.
